Authors: Rothstein, Gidon
Editors: Holderness, J. B.
Abstract: Meshivim, authors of halachic responsa, have lived everywhere and everywhen, producing a literature that seems overwhelming to study. Rabbi Gidon Rothstein presents responsa from 1600 to the present, finding unifying themes that repeatedly engaged these scholars and the common sources on which they based their ideas.
Join Rabbi Rothstein as he explores how meshivim come to their halachic conclusions and what animated our greatest halachic authors.
A graduate of YU, Rabbi Rothstein was ordained at RIETS. After a career wandering through the rabbinate and education at various levels, he now teaches and writes online. This is his seventh book.

Authors: Tessone, Regine M.
Abstract: On February 1, 1979, Regine M. Tessone dashed through the Teheran airport with her parents and brothers. As they boarded the plane, the pilot announced, "You are the lucky ones! The airport is now closed, and the Ayatollah Khomeini has arrived."
Mrs. Tessone's memoir Monavar's Journey: Bridge to Hope (Palmetto Publishing, 2022) recreates the life of her Jewish family in Iran before the takeover of Khomeini and her subsequent life in America, where she embraced many immigrant opportunities. She will describe reuniting with her mother's family in Brooklyn, serving as a volunteer in Israel, falling in love with a non-Persian Jew, and founding Aqua Modesta, a world-famous women's clothing line.
Mrs. Tessone served as Spiritual Advisor to the Sephardic students at Stern College.
