Although the experiences of parents raising a child with ASD have been well documented, there is limited research on the experiences of Latino families. This phenological study examined the lived experiences of Latino fathers raising a child with ASD. The study utilized relational cultural theory and identity theory to contextualize the findings. Eight Latino fathers were recruited through gatekeepers and administrators from two New York City agencies. Semi-structured interviews were conducted via Zoom. A thematic analysis approach was utilized to identify themes common to these fathers. Five themes emerged from data analysis related to childhood memories, life pre-diagnosis, impact on family life, never-ending fear, and empowerment and evolvement.
