About Stern College Dramatics Society The Stern College Dramatics Society offers young Jewish women the opportunity to partake in all manifestations of the performing arts within an Orthodox environment. • With a range of creative outlets including everything from acting to special effects to lighting design, the theater helps students develop self expression, eloquence, and confidence. We welcome people of all colors, creeds, and cravings to pursue their dreams both on and backstage, and to add one of the most universally celebrated extra-curricular activities to their resumes. linktr.ee/sterndramatics ••History of Dramatics at Stern College •• The World of Shalom Aleichem (1968) The Crucible ( 1969) The Importance of Being Ernest ( 1970) The Private Lives of Master Rice (1971) The Children's Hour (1972) The Madwoman of Chaillot (1973) The Prime of Miss Jean Brody (1974) The Women (1975) Uncommon Women and Others (1979) The Young and the Fair (1980) Cry Havoc (1981) Pageant (1981) Women in White (1982) The Gingerbread Lady (1983) Children in Uniform (1984) The Effects of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds ( 1985) Interview/Zoo Story (1985) A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur (1986) The House of Bermada Alba (1987) A Physician in Spite of Himself (1988) Uncommon Women and Others (1989) The Caucasian Chalk Circle (1990) The Importance of Being Ernest (1991) The Dybbuk (1992) Twelve Angry Women (1993) The Mikado (1994) Little Shop of Horrors (1995) Ladyhouse Blues (1995) Steel Magnolias (1996) Kindertransport (1997) Monkey, Monkey, Bottle of Beer, How Many Monkeys Have We Here? ALPHA PSI OMEGA In the spring of 1981, the Stem College Dramatics Society became an official member of Alpha Psi Omega as chapter Epsilon Epsilon. Alpha Psi Omega was organized in 1925 as an honorary dramatics fraternity for the purpose of providing an honor society for those doing a high standard of work in dramatics. Through its expansion, Alpha Psi Omega has provided a wider fellowship for those interested in theater. Play production is a highly technical activity which requires the service of a trained director and all of the resources of a large dramatics association, where every member of the student body may have an equal opportunity for expression. We at Stern College are proud to be part of this prestigious national society.
