dc.description.abstract | Course Description:
This course is a broad introduction to the field of psychology. Students explore the key figures, diverse
theoretical perspectives, and research findings that have shaped some of the major areas of
contemporary psychology. This course will also review the research methods used to study the origins
and diversity of human behavior. Other topics may be added or topics adjusted at the instructor’s
discretion. Course will include lectures, quizzes, discussion, and 2 exams. Students are responsible for
material from lectures and readings.
Learning Objectives:
• Demonstrate an understanding of psychology as a science.
• Demonstrate an understanding of psychological concepts, principles, and theories related to the
core topics in the field.
• Apply psychological principles and concepts.
