BIBL1509E: Book of Numbers: Advanced - Fall 2021

Abstract

This course will study multiple topics in the Book of Numbers and will focus on the theme of transition and the journey of the Jewish people. It will explore questions such as what happened between Exodus from Egypt and entering the Land of Israel? What preparations did the Jewish people have to do? What transformations did they have to go through in terms of leadership and national unity? Learning will be based on the Biblical text as well as classical and modern commentaries.
