dc.description.abstract | This course explores distinct narratives within the Early Prophets through the prism of family narratives. During this course of study, students will examine each narrative from an array of perspectives, with specific focus on the comparison between peshat and derash, character development and the impact the family structure has on the development of the narrative. Students will be exposed to the diverse methodological approaches of חז’’ל and the פרשנים , and will examine biblical text to analyze the basis and purpose of the different approaches. These topics will be explored through a range of modalities, including group learning, chavruta study and independent analysis. The course will utilize a shiur and seder model as well. | en_US |
