dc.description.abstractLearning outcomes SCW upper junior-level majors in speech-language pathology and audiology will— 1) Identify and describe the risk factors, etiologies, and clinical presentations of, and assessments and interventions for language disorders across the lifespan, including early developmental language disorders; language-learning and reading disorders; the language disorders associated with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disability, and adult acquired disorders, including aphasia, the disorders associated with right-hemisphere syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and dementia; 2) Describe the connection between language disorder and reading disorder; 3) Identify and describe the risk factors, etiologies, and clinical presentations of, and assessments and interventions for, feeding disorders across the lifespan, including newborn, infant, and toddler feeding difficulties and acquired adult dysphagia; 4) Engage in research of a selected disorder (midterm assessment); 5) Sample and analyze the expressive language of adults with Broca’s aphasia.en_US
