Abstract
ELIGIBILITY
This course is for students who have successfully completed Lower Elementary Hebrew I (1001) in Fall 2020.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to review the foundational structures of Hebrew and continue introducing students to Hebrew texts and advance their skills in: Hebrew reading, literal and grammatical analysis of Hebrew textual data, understanding the role of context in textual comprehension as well as vocabulary acquisition, and in producing grammatically well-formed oral and written expression on a limited scale.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course students will be able to:
• Add many new words to their active Hebrew vocabulary
• Understand the role of context in using Hebrew words properly
• Acquire thinking strategies in reading and analyzing Hebrew textual data, evaluating the data, and applying it inside and outside the classroom
• Develop basic communicative skills, both oral and written
