Abstract
This is a first course in guitar. The approach is two-pronged, using a folk-based style to
teach basic accompanying skills and a classical approach to teach note reading and the
ability to play more complex textures. As ability develops, the two styles will be blended
to create a comprehensive and easy familiarity with the instrument and its potential.
Previous experience with guitar, though helpful, is not required.
