Tefillat Nacheim
Description
Book chapter
Abstract
It is rare that a prayer is recited only one time a year and
that the text of a prayer that was first composed in ancient times and
recited for over a millennium is still the subject of ongoing contemporary
controversy and debate.....And what about today? The answer depends on one's position
on both general liturgical textual change and one's assessment of the
current political situation in the State of Israel. But, in any case
1 we continue
to be blessed by Medina/ Yisrael and pray every day for her safety
and security. And we continue to pray that the city that was once "in
sorrow, laid waste, scorned and desolate" will be the site of our rebuilt
Beit Ha-Mikdash, bi-mheirah be-yameinu
