Abstract

The differences between a scientific notion and one that is not can be condensed into a single word: testable.---

Conducting research allows our undergraduate students to experience firsthand the process of science. lt helps them realize that all scientific hypotheses and theories found in textbooks today were once just ideas that were put to the test and are now heavily supported by evidence.---

Research has many formats and can be exciting or frustrating, can be simple or demanding, can be fruitful or challenging. But regardless of the specific field or project, it is a vital component of the undergraduate college experience at Yeshiva University. lt challenges students to stretch their imagination, skills and knowledge and connects them with the scientific community around the world.---

The scientists before us have started the journey; it is now our turn to steer the wheel of the scientific voyage towards new and exciting directions. This publication offers a glimpse into the research projects that caught the interest of our undergraduate students at Yeshiva College and Stern College for Women and reflects their commendable patience, passion and dedication.---

Science is not "finished" and, ו dare to say, will never be. This young generation of ambitious undergraduate students is in charge of the scientific breakthroughs of tomorrow and, as this publication shows, is already busy uncovering them one experiment at a time.---
