dc.description.abstract | A Comparison Group Study on the Factors that Contribute to Divorce in Orthodox Judaism The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that contribute to divorce in the Orthodox Jewish community. This quantitative study utilized a comparison group method by collecting samples from both married and divorced participants in the greater metropolitan area to identify independent variables that impact marital status. T-tests, ANOVAs, and logistic regressions were performed in order to analyze and compare the 2 datasets. The results showed the following variables to be statistically significant in relation to the participants' marital status: age when married, length of dating, the agreement or disagreement on friends, and the agreement or disagreement on conventionality. These findings yield important implications that can be used clinically within this community and show gaps in the research that should be studied. | |
