During the Renaissance period artists combined their depictions of nature with mathematical and scientific theories. The purpose of this paper is to analyze works of Leonardo da Vinci in order to understand how artwork from the Renaissance period incorporated these scientific theories and in order to find out if the theories were incorporated in order to satisfy the curiosity of the artists and allow artists to provide more accurate depictions of nature or to convey the connection between math and science to nature to mainstream society.en_US
