Abstract

This course introduces students to statistics for analyzing data from research studies in psychological science. Course content includes basic concepts and terminology of statistics, display of data, research designs in psychology, central tendency and variability, the basic logic of frequentist statistical inference, t-tests (one-sample, independent means, and matched samples), correlation, regression, analysis of variance, interval estimation for means and other statistics, chi-square tests, power and decision errors, and a brief, rudimentary introduction to Bayesian statistics.
