Abstract
("I Hate Hamlet" is a comedy-drama written in 1991 by Paul Rudnick.) ABOUT THE PLAY Andrew Rally is a highly sought after television star who comes to New York to play Hamlet in a Shakespeare In The Park production. The only problem is that he is terrified to play the most famous role Shakespeare ever wrote. The ghost of John Barrymore, whose loft Andrew has rented while he rehearses for his part, and who was perhaps the greatest man to ever play the role of Hamlet, is resurrected to help Andrew learn the role. With the help of Barrymore and some of his old acting buddies, now ghosts, Andrew is able to understand what it means to play Hamlet.
