Abstract
ABOUT THE PLAY: In modern-day Egypt, a group of American archaeology students, led by teacher David Lambert, are thrown inside an Egyptian temple by an earthquake. Not long after the students miraculously survive the earthquake, David Lambert faces a highly unusual visitor -
- Death, wishing to take on human form in his pursuit of the human experience. Hiding behind the guise of Paul Sirki, Death begins his 24-hour search for the one person who could bring understanding to his mortal existence and teach him the meaning of life.

Theater program / YCDS. Note: "Death takes a holiday" is adapted from the screenplay by Maxwell Anderson and Gladys Lehman, based on the 1924 Italian play La morte in vacanza by Alberto Casella (1891–1957), adapted in English for Broadway in 1929 by Walter Ferris.
