Abstract: | With social media, the creation of these new social movements is possible. People are organizing themselves online differently and communicating their personal feelings on issues differently. If social media is utilized to its full potential, leaders of social movements that are constructed online can use their platforms to spread their messages more clearly and with greater reach. Members of movements can motivate others to join them with greater rates of success and communicate their goals to the traditional media. With these advancements and advantages, perhaps these innovative social movements will be strong enough to identify global solutions and achieve international goals. [from Conclusion] |
