Abstract: | Similar to traditional foster care, therapeutic foster care (TFC) is temporary, its purpose being to prepare children for either reunification with their parents, independent living, or adoption. There is some evidence that TFC has helped certain foster children but further research is needed to discern whether the positive effects, if any, have been gained in a cost-effective manner and whether further program innovations are in order. |
