Abstract: Course Description: This course is an introduction to the major theories of personality, structure, and dynamics of normal and abnormal personality development, research methods used to test theories and clinical diagnostic tests and procedures. Other topics may be added or adjusted at the instructor’s discretion. Course will include lectures, term paper, exams, student presentations, and brief assignments/activities at the instructor’s discretion. Students are responsible for material from lectures and readings. Learning Objectives: • Describe and differentiate among the major psychological approaches towards personality development • Define and apply core personality concepts, terms, and theories • Understand research methodology in personality research • Learn about personality assessment and clinical applications
