Abstract: NOTE: This course offering is listed as “Interpersonal Relationships” as it fulfills that requirement for Sy Syms students. Course Overview This course will focus on understanding how Halacha governs the flow of Capital (money) in all forms of transactions. We will address the principles of an economic system in Halacha and the various considerations that governs businesses when engaging in commerce. Beginning with the laws pertaining to loans and the transfer of money, we will learn how to assess all forms of transactions and contracts for Halakhic viability. Topics include: Loans, Mortgages, Asset-Based Loans (ABL), Partnerships, Real Estate Investments, Preferred Return Contracts, Equity & Options Contracts, Bonds, and Foreign Exchange & Commodities trading.
