Abstract: General description: Biochemistry is the chemical description of biomolecules that interact in living cells and allow organisms to function. In this course, we will use the knowledge obtained in Principles of Biochemistry to answer more advanced questions of biological nature, such as the metabolism of DNA, RNA and proteins. We will also talk about the cause of several diseases and conditions in human health. ___ Objectives: At the end of this course, using chemical tools, you will be able to explain how and why biological processes such as diseases, biosynthesis, and metabolism occur.
