Abstract: Course Objectives: This course is the second semester of the two semester General Chemistry course. Students will become familiar with the properties of different states of matter with a close look at liquids, solids and solutions. Students will then be introduced to chemical kinetics, with a focus on reaction rates and mechanisms. A large part of the course is devoted to an understanding of thermodynamics and equilibrium, and its application to chemical systems and processes. Finally, students will be introduced to basics concepts and applications in nuclear chemistry.
