Abstract: | Course Objectives This course focuses on a variety of fascinating theological and philosophical concepts that emerge from the writings of Nachmanides. Special attention will be given to Nachamanides’ Commentary on the Torah. The narratives and passages that have been selected will allow us to reflect on a variety of topics, such as the nature of redemption, the meaning, and purpose of miracles, divine intervention, free will, and theodicy. Seminars will be discussion-based with the intention of fostering students’ analytical and critical thinking skills. |
