dc.description.abstractIn this essay we briefly address living cesarean section, in particular, the rabbinic sources that reflect its possible performance in antiquity. We then explore the history and halakhah of postmortem cesarean section. Our research reveals four distinct stages in the rabbinic response to postmortem cesarean section throughout history.en_US
