Abstract: As we inch closer to the end of Exodus in our Torah cycle, we find ourselves inside the Mishkan, the Portable Sanctuary of our wilderness years, for many chapters. We familiarize ourselves with the Mishkan's architecture and construction down to its very boards. We are told that if the people build it, God will dwell among them. But why devote this much textual attention to the pedestrian aspects of its assembly?
