Abstract: The current paper aims to discuss the classical Hebrew words for tree from a cross-cultural perspective. Although the basic data is well known, there are two goals of this discussion: to explore how such cross-cultural studies can aid in the study of philology of Ancient Hebrew (AH), and to show that dead ancient languages deserve to be studies alongside contemporary far-flung languages and others interested in what can be learned from the structure of languages.
