| Abstract: | ספרו החדש של יוסף עופר (להלן עופר) הוא ספר יסוד על אנשי המסורה ועל המסורה שירשו והורישו. יש בו תרומה חשובה לחקר הטקסט המקראי העומד לפנינו בכל תנ"ך שנדפס, והוא עתיד לשמש ראש פינה לכל מי שירצה להתעניין ולעסוק בתחום. עד עתה לא היה ספר שמיצה את המחקר על אנשי המסורה מראשיתו בדורות הקודמים ועד ימינו, למעט ספרו החשוב של ייבין על המסורה הטברנית. המהדורה הראשונה תורגמה לאנגלית בידי א"ג רוול, והמהדורה השנייה נערכה בידי עופר עצמו ויצאה ברם, יש הבדלים בסיסיים בין ספרו של ייבין לספרו החדש של 1.2003לאור ב־ עופר. לא אתעכב על כל ההבדלים, ודי להעיר שהספר הנידון כאן שימושי, בהיר, ובסיסי בדרכים שאין למצוא בספרו של ייבין. |
