Scholarly compilation of articles on Maimonides.en_US
Maimonidean Studies, an international, interdisciplinary publication, conceives its area of interest in broad terms and will be hospitable to articles on a variety of subjects. In the field of Halakhah it will carry interpretations of Maimonides' legal works, studies dealing with their talmudic and geonic antecedents, the influence of his legal writings on subsequent commentators and decisors, and comparative legal studies. In the field of philosophy it will publish interpretations of Maimonides' philosophic writings, and studies of their Greek, Hellenistic, and Islamic antecedents as well as their impact on Jewish philosophy in the later Middle Ages, on Latin scholasticism, and on the philosophy of the Enlightenment and the Haskalah. Besides these, Maimonidean Studies will carry articles on Maimonides as Bible commentator, physician, scientist, and communal leader and on the history of Maimonides' time, the Maimonidean family, and the Maimonidean controversies. It will also publish articles on the language of Maimonides' Hebrew and Arabic writings and bibliographic information.en_US
