Abstract: The purpose of this course is to explore theoretical perspectives and practical methods for instruction and integration of the arts, especially visual art, dance, music and drama, into an early childhood classroom. ___ The arts are vital to learning and life. All teachers can design arts based learning experiences. Teachers who dismiss the arts deprive children of important learning. ___ Why do children need the arts? What do meaningful arts experiences look like and sound like? How can I design effective arts experiences in the EC classroom?
